Degraded peatlands are a carbon source, not a sink. Restoring them is one of the most cost-effective climate actions available in Wales, and it’s a national priority under the National Peatland Action Programme.
We deliver peatland restoration works across South and Mid Wales, carrying out forest to bog restorations, ditch blocking, Hag reprofiling, low elevation bund construction and de-vegetation.
Cwm Agricultural have a fleet of specialised low-ground-pressure (less than 3 PSI) tracked machines that are built for this work. They are light enough to operate on active peat without causing further damage and have a reduced risk of becoming stuck.
We’ve worked on NPAP-funded projects, NRW-managed sites, and private restoration schemes. We understand the monitoring requirements, the ecological targets, and the practical realities of working on wet, remote, difficult terrain.
